I’d like to get more ideas and suggestions related to this topic.
So I updated the first post to reflect some of the things discussed.
I’ll continue to do so as more ideas come.

just a question about these cape ideas.
Should it be more expensive, if options like these were implemented?
I think if it stayed at 2plats for everything, it would make the current cape system obsolete, and players wont be unique anymore since everyone will move into the next trend-look/style.
/just a thought.
added: yup. just to clarify. I was referring mainly to Option 4. because that is basically the biggest change about the capes that would make characs most unique in external looks. Personally, I would have that option cost at least 500gold-1plat by itself to make ppl seriously decide on its worth.(gold sink.hehe).

Uh? Maybe but all depends on how many designs they would put or it would we all the same, just more expensive.

Well, the main and most important suggestion I’m raising, is to give us more control over the existing cape designs. This heavily relates to points #1, #2 and #3 that I have listed on my first post.
I’m not asking for new designs, styles, or emblems. I’m mainly asking for more options and control over what we already have.
The idea was to have the new system completely replace the Guild Emblemer. Since what we currently have is very limited in options.
As for the new cape styles (point #4). It doesn’t have to necessarily be a part of the Guild Emblemer. Maybe have a separate crafter that sells/crafts different types of capes to the guilds for set prices/materials.
Or even make it available to individual players. Allowing them to buy which ever cape they’d like to wear and the guild emblem/theme will be applied to it once purchased. (So there's some diversity within the guild. Instead of having a guild all in cloaks.)

I totally agree. The Guild Emblemer should do just that -- design the cape. (And allow you to preview the cape in the different styles.) But the cape style you choose should be separately purchased from a crafter.
I actually prefer the idea I mentioned about each player being allowed to choose their own cape style. We’re allowed to toggle the cape on and off, why not what style we’re in? (Since we're going to have to pay for it anyway.) And if the guild designs gets applied to it. I see no problem that can arise.
With the exception of PVP, where the default cape would be used I guess?

I heavily object to PvP characters only being able to use the default cape. They can dye our armour whatever colour we choose in character creation (except black), so they should therefore not be restricted to the single, (admittedly) crappy cape style just because they don't pay for the cape themselves.
A cape is fashion, it makes absolutely no sense for the PvP cape choices to be limited.

I understand and agree. The PVP statement I made was mostly regarding GvGs, where a uniform look would suit it much better. In that case, maybe the use of the default guild cape (a guild chosen default) would work better.
As for all the other PVP characters that do RA/TA/HA, being able to select their cape style from character creation I agree on as well.
*unrelated*
PS. Can't you delete your own posts if you double/triple post?

I find the current ones not really pleasing in overall design. Its like an old medieval fluffed flag just hanged around your back & neck. What I suggest also, is making the capes customized to class too, like armors. For Necros, they'd have Spawn(comic character)-esque capes. Monks, arch angelic types. Eles & Mes, long flowy wizardy ones. And etc.

I think for emblems that you should not only be able to put them on your cape but also on your armor.

I've lately spotted a few of the rewarded silver and gold trimmed capes. Not a bad addition. But it also makes me feel even stronger about having something done to our existing capes.
As it stands, the top 16 PVP guilds will be rewarded a unique look -- the first ranking guild having their gold trim permanent.
So where does this leave all the RP and PVE guilds?

Interesting idea Cruet. However, what happens if a monk player wants the necro cape for their monk? XD hehe
But something like that could be worked into idea #4. Allowing players to select their style of cape.
